Deep Nap: a quieter place to rest.
Sometimes putting your phone down is enough. Sometimes a familiar app keeps calling you back. Deep Nap is Foldy’s optional way to put a few chosen apps to rest with your companion.
Foldy Pets is in development. This page explains the planned behavior of Deep Nap, before the app is available.
Choose what gets a pause
Deep Nap uses Apple’s Screen Time controls to show a shield over apps or categories you select during a Foldy rest. It is a Pro feature you turn on yourself. The core pet, rest, dreams and evolution work without it.
- Enable Deep Nap in Foldy and grant Screen Time permission.
- Choose the apps or categories you want to pause in Apple’s picker.
- Start your rest. The selected apps are shielded while the nap runs.
- End or cancel the nap to clear the shields.
The aim is a small boundary around time you already wanted to spend away. Deep Nap is not designed as a permanent lockout.
You keep a way out
If you need an app, return to Foldy and use “Wake Foldy” to end Deep Nap. The system shield cannot open Foldy directly, so do not expect its button to jump into the app. Foldy’s design includes a notification route back when notifications are enabled.
Ending or cancelling Deep Nap clears the shields. Losing Pro access also clears them. If a shield remains after an interrupted session, open Foldy; its settings include a way to clear stuck blocks.
Waking early does not hurt your companion. Your rest keeps the stardust it already earned.
Screen Time is optional
There is no Screen Time permission prompt during onboarding. Permission is requested when you enable a feature that needs it: Deep Nap or optional usage-based nudges.
Foldy’s rest rewards use the app’s own session timestamps. Deep Nap does not need to read app names or your usage history. Apple’s picker supplies private selection tokens for the apps you choose.
The app is designed with no account, ads or tracking; rest data stays on your device. A separate app privacy policy will be published before launch. The current privacy notice covers this website’s waitlist.
A focus tool with a companion beside it
Deep Nap is one option inside Foldy, rather than a requirement for earning anything. You can simply tap Rest, put your phone down and let your companion sleep. There is no need to give Screen Time access just to hatch an egg.
